An Instagram yogi’s guide to surviving the Indian summer
Radhika Bose is an Instagram yogi and an astute health and lifestyle blogger. With a massive following of 82.6k yoga enthusiasts on Instagram, she’s quite the poster child for the Indian #fitspo (fitness inspiration) wave. What makes her so relatable is the ease with which she shares her thoughts on a range of topics including struggles of coping with depression to fighting the Delhi smog, and of course benefits of a fit lifestyle. She’s also perfected the art of shutting down mindless workout trends and instead inspires her followers to work on a sustainable health routine, for both mental and physical balance.
We met her on a sunny summer morning in a public park for a little yoga and chat session to understand what brought her to yoga and some tips to survive the ruthless summer.
Radhika: Nine years ago, my mom was diagnosed with a herniated (slipped) disc and doctors recommended that she start practicing yoga to keep the condition from getting worse. I thought it would be a good way to spend time with her so I started practicing with her.
Radhika: The best way to keep your body fuelled is to drink a lot of water. Also, it’s better to consume lighter food, enjoy the seasonal fruits and cooling natural sherbets, practice yoga in early mornings and wear earthy, organic textiles to regulate your body temperature
